India Post announces 1899 vacancies, registrations begin on Nov 10; Check detailed eligibility criteria here

According to the official notification, the vacancy details are provided below:
Application Fee
- Application fee is Rs. 100 for all.
Women, transgender individuals, and candidates from SC, ST, PwBD, and EWS categories are exempt from paying the fee. Online payment options include UPI, net banking, credit/debit cards, and more.
Detailed Eligibility criteria
For the posts of Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.
- Knowledge of working on a computer.
For the posts of Postman / Mail Guard:
- 12th standard pass from a recognized Board.
- Should have passed the local language of the concerned Postal Circle or Division as one of the subjects in 10th standard or above.
- Knowledge of working on a computer.
- Valid license to drive two-wheeler or Light Motor Vehicle (For the post of Postman only).
The notice further states that if a person not possessing the knowledge of the local language of the Postal Circle or Division concerned shall also be eligible for appointment. However, such a person, after appointment, shall pass a local language test to be conducted in the manner as may be decided by the concerned Postal Circle. Passing the local language test shall be a pre-condition for the completion of probation.
Additionally, a person not possessing a valid license to drive a two-wheeler or light motor vehicle shall also be eligible for appointment as Postman.
For the posts of Multi Tasking Staff:
- 10th standard pass from a recognized Board.
Method of selection
The provisional merit list will rely solely on the information provided in the online application. No additional information will be considered offline before the preparation of the provisional merit list. The notice also states that candidates should only mention their highest participation or achievement in sports. For instance, if a candidate has participated in both national and international events, they should only submit details of the international events for which they have to fill a form, without providing details of other achievements.
