Nvidia is one of the biggest gainers of the artificial intelligence (AI) wave. The AI chipmaker’s shares have gone up by as much as 180% this year and are currently trading around $392, after falling to 5-month low over a report that the AI giant may be forced to cancel up to $5 billion worth of advanced chip orders to China in compliance with new US government restrictions.
Incidentally, there’s a story about Nvidia stock hitting $100. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang got a tattoo of the company logo when its stock price hit $100. Huang, known for wearing his signature shiny black leather jacket, shared the same during a wide-ranging interview for HP’s online show “The Moment”. But he added that he is probably not looking to get inked again.
“So you’ve got a tattoo of the company logo on your arm. What’s next?” asked host Ryan Patel. “Ageing gracefully. No more tattoos,” the 60-year-old shot back. “It hurts way more than anybody tells you,” Huang added.
Incidentally, this is not the first time that Huang has complained about his tattoo. Back in November 2017, he told Fortune that he wanted to extend the tattoo but recalled “crying like a baby” during getting it. “My kids were with me, and they’re like, ‘Dad, you’ve gotta control yourself,'” he told the publication.
It’s not immediately clear when Huang got the current tattoo on his left arm. As Nvidia’s stock has split five times since the company went public in 1999. Huang co-founded Nvidia in 1993.
The tattoo, alongside his black leather jacket, that he most most often pairs with a black T-shirt and black jeans, are said to be his signature style. When asked how he felt about his status as a fashion icon thanks to his jacket, Huang had a modest response: “Don’t give me that. I’m happy that my wife and my daughter dress me.”
Huang has been wearing them reportedly “for at least 20 years.”
