DUBAI: An engaging community event, titled Tokyo Alley, was held on April 5 and 6 at Dubai Outlet Mall as part of the “NARUTO THE GALLERY” exhibition.

Organized by UAE store Comicave, the two-day event featured various activities such as Japanese origami and calligraphy, cosplay catwalk and competition, TCG card trading, and an anime quiz.

“The Tokyo Alley event allowed us to highlight our UAE-based participants who are also fans of anime and Japanese culture,” Ian Eleria from Comicave’s management team told Arab News Japan. “The activation showcased their talents and products to many people who visited the event.”

“Adding to the excitement was a rare giveaway. Attendees stood a chance to win an official event book signed by Naruto’s Japanese voice actor, Junko Takeuchi—a true collector’s dream,” he added.

Jason Ishida, founder of Japan In Arabia, commented on the event, saying, “There was a noticeable buzz of excitement around the event as many passing by stopped to observe the participants and their products. It was clear people were genuinely curious to see how the cosplayers were showcasing their talents.”

“There was a real sense of anticipation and engagement from everyone, and a shared appreciation for the creative energy brought to the mall. It was a nice, unexpected moment for many shoppers. From cosplay to calligraphy and trading cards to trivia, the Tokyo Alley event delivered an unforgettable weekend of creativity and community,” he added.
