TOKYO: A United Arab Emirates Festival is being held in Tokyo on this weekend, celebrating the music, food, and culture of the UAE.
The festival, titled “Experience the Culture of the United Arab Emirates,” was hosted by the UAE Embassy and held at Tokyo Tower Foot Town’s outdoor event plaza.
UAE Ambassador Shihab Al Faheem welcomed the guests at the opening, including former Foreign Minister HAYASHI Yoshimasa, who has close ties with the UAE and other Arab countries.
There was a demonstration of falconry and preparation of Arabic coffee, as well as traditional entertainment performances, including a folk music ensemble, from the UAE Ministry of Culture and Youth. Abu Dhabi Folk Arts Society Mubarak Al Otaiba Band also performed the sword dance.
Visitors could also get henna art applications and there was even a UAE convenience store.
The festival was scheduled to finish on Sunday evening.
