These zero-emission buses, built on an indigenous architecture, come with battery systems and a host of modern features such as electronic stability control, air suspension, and an Intelligent Transport System (ITS), thus prioritizing the safety and comfort of the passengers.

Talking about the Ultra EV, it is powered by a 124kWh lithium-ion battery pack, propelling this public commuter with a continuous power output of 145 hp and a continuous torque of 1,145 Nm. The top power and peak torque outputs stand at 245 hp and 3,000 Nm. With a charging time of up to 2.5 hours using a fast charging setup, these buses deliver a claimed range of 150 km on a single charge. Furthermore, these electric buses get a top speed of 75 kmph, which is sufficient for city commuting.
Tata Motors said that it has supplied more than 1,000 electric buses across multiple cities in India, which have cumulatively clocked more than 9.6 crore km, with an uptime of over 95%.
