‘Stranger Things’ star faces backlash for ‘Zionism is Sexy’ stickers

Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp is courting controversy on social media after he was seen laughing with his friends as they posed with “Zionism is Sexy” and “Hamas is ISIS” stickers.

In the clip, Schnapp, who has openly supported Israel and slammed Hamas, is seen sitting at a table in a restaurant as he and his pals grin and pose with the various stickers.

Zionism is a term that refers to the Jewish nationalist movement that led to the creation of Israel, while ISIS is a organization that committed acts of terror in parts of the Middle East.

But the carefree nature with which Schnapp, 19, and his friends smile as the war between Israel and Hamas grinds on, riled up followers on X as the actor’s name trended Tuesday morning with some calling him an “evil waste of space” and a “hypocritical sociopath.”

“Not even surprised anymore, he just wants his career to be over at this point,” one user said.

“People like him do not deserve success at the expense of millions of people,” another person added.

“In 50 years, Noah Schnapp will be like those White grandparents you know that will lie to you and say they supported the civil rights movement,” someone else wrote. “‘Yes, sweetie, I supported Palestine. I think everyone deserves equality,’ and then you find some old photobook and it’s them in KKK garb.”

Others called for a boycott of Stranger Things, which will begin filming its fifth season later this year.

Last month, Schnapp, who is Jewish, condemned Hamas’ terror attack on Israel, which killed more than 1,400 Israelis and saw more than 240 people being taken hostage.

In a social media post shared with his 25 million followers, Schnapp backed Israel’s retaliatory response, which has seen close to 10,000 Palestinians killed, as he told his followers, “You either stand with Israel or you stand with terrorism. It shouldn’t be a difficult choice. Shame on you.”

He then lashed out at the “silence” from some his fellow celebrities and fans following the attack.

“The same people who love to jump on fashionable causes like supporting Ukraine and combating climate change have been chillingly quiet,” he wrote. “The Jewish people are seeing your silence and we won’t forget. 40 babies were beheaded and burned alive in front of their parents by Hamas. I hope we can agree that Hamas is recognized as a terrorist organization.”

Schnapp also ripped people who criticized him for sharing a photo of one of Hamas’ victims, saying he was “outraged” and asking if “people have lost their minds?”

“I just reposted a beautiful picture of a young innocent girl whose life was taken by Hamas at a music festival. I was met with comments reading, ‘No one cares – free Palestine’ and ‘She deserves that, and every Israeli terrorist deserves that’ … You don’t have to be Jewish, you don’t have to be Israeli, you just have to have empathy and common sense to know that THIS is wrong.”
