The all-day breakfast chain plans to open the state’s first Denny’s drive-thru at 14235 W. Whitesbridge Ave. in Kerman, as first reported by KSEE24. A grand opening event is planned for Monday, Nov. 13, and the first 100 guests can expect to receive a free Denny’s coffee mug and free coffee for a month, according to the outlet.
It’s not the first time the 24-hour restaurant has opened a drive-thru restaurant. In 2007, Denny’s debuted its very first drive-thru store in Indianapolis featuring three breakfast sandwiches, according to Nation’s Restaurant News. It’s unclear if the drive-thru at the Kerman Denny’s will similarly offer a limited menu. SFGATE reached out to Denny’s for comment but did not hear back by publication.
While ordering buttermilk pancakes from a drive-thru window might sound odd, a study by research firm Technomic found that drive-thru traffic at fast food restaurants has spiked by 30% between 2019 and 2022, according to The New York Times.
