Scottish actor Ncuti Gatwa spotted punching his way out of a giant snowman in kilt on Doctor Who shoot
Ncuti Gatwa has been spotted wearing a kilt and punching his way out of a giant snowman as he films reshoots for the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas special.
On Tuesday, October 3, crews were spotted on Saint Mary Street in Cardiff filming a night shoot featuring Scottish actor Gatwa who is set to play the 15th Doctor.
He will star opposite Coronation Street’s Millie Gibson who will play the Doctor’s companion Ruby Sunday in the upcoming episode.
The 30-year-old Sex Education actor takes over from fellow Scot David Tennant, who is returning as the 14th Doctor in three specials that will air in November 2023.
On the night shoot in Cardiff, Gatwa was spotted wearing a yellow top, leather jacket and kilt, and emerged from a huge inflatable snowman on set.
On set with Gatwa on set was an actor portraying a policeman and a number of supporting artists as members of the public.
Gatwa is the fourth Scot to take up the role as the Doctor, following on from Sylvester McCoy, Tennant and Peter Capaldi.
The season will premiere exclusively on the BBC in the UK and Ireland, with Disney+ streaming new episodes for viewers elsewhere.
