Houston Astros manager Dusty Baker has told multiple people inside and outside the organization that 2023 will be his final season as manager, according to The Athletic’s Brittany Ghiroli and Chandler Rome.
The Astros fell to the Texas Rangers 11-4 in Game 7 of the ALCS on Monday.

After seizing a 3-2 series lead over the Rangers with three straight road wins, Baker and the Astros lost back-to-back home games to miss out on their third consecutive World Series appearance and a chance to repeat as champions.
The 74-year-old Baker, who has managed for 26 major-league seasons, has a career 2,183-1,862 regular-season record, along with three pennants and one World Series title last year.
Baker also spent 19 seasons as a player winning one World Series.
