The company has launched the side stand sensor and switches at Rs 172 and is also offering a two-year warranty from the date of manufacturing.
How does it work
This new range of products from Uno Minda uses a mechanism that disengages the engine circuit unit when the side stand is in an unsafe position, without fail. Additionally, the sensor’s instrument console features an LED light indicator that lights up when the side stand is in an unfavourable position, keeping the driver alert when the vehicle is in motion.

Side stand sensors are important because getting to a corner and having the side stand hit the road can lead to a crash.
The company, in a statement, said that the sensor underwent rigorous testing, including up to 3 lakh cycles to ensure that the end product is long-lasting and reliable for every weather condition.
Anand Kumar, Head of Product & Strategy, Aftermarket Domain, Uno Minda, said, “We know that bikes generally come with a pre-installed side stand sensor. Uno Minda side stand sensors have been manufactured to cater to the durability requirements on India’s rocky trails.”
By preventing side stand mishaps, these sensors and switches can help save lives and reduce accidents. Although modern motorcycles and newer models do feature this feature these days, this can be a valuable accessory for older bikes that lack this technology.
