After premiering at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August 2023, the futuristic Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 was showcased in Mumbai on October 11. The Maybach 6 is an all-electric aero coupe which certainly looks unlike any other luxury coupe that we have seen so far. Although the Maybach 6 is 5,700 mm in length, it seats just four passengers and pays homage to the golden era of aero style coupes of the past, such as the 300SL. Another cue borrowed from the SL are the gullwing doors on the Maybach 6, however, these are huge doors.

The front end spans 2,100 mm wide and gets the LED wing lights as well as an imposing chrome grille. It is finished with an upright Mercedes-Benz logo and comes together in the Maybach red paintwork. The rear end of the Maybach 6 is again unique, with its extended, round ‘boat-tail’ design format and resembles a luxury yacht. Inside again, the Maybach 6 is unlike anything else out there. Mercedes calls it the 360 degree lounge because the entire cabin is designed as a wraparound cockpit with a large glass area. The front dash is minimal and extends into a centre console with illuminated elements. Apart from the two circular dials behind the steering wheel, there is no touchscreen in the Maybach 6. That is because driver-related data and geographical location is displayed onto the entire windscreen and different functions are operated by gestures instead of physical controls.
Performance provisions:
The Vision Maybach 6 is an all-electric coupe and gets all-wheel-drive thanks to one dedicated PMS electric motor for each wheel. The motors generate a combined output of a whopping 740 hp from the 80 kWh battery pack that the coupe gets in its underfloor. The drivetrain generates enough thrust to rope the Maybach 6 from 0-100 kmph in under four seconds and it has an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. It can do all this while returning an NEDC claimed range of 500 km on a full charge.
