MSIL had earlier revealed that it will launch the model in 2025. The eVX will be powered by a 60 kWh battery pack and an electric motor. Although the power figures have not been revealed yet, the company has claimed that the battery pack on this EV (the chemistry of which is not known) will be capable of delivering up to 550 km of range when juiced fully.
The eVX will be based on Toyota’s 40PL platform designed for BEVs, which will allow the batteries to be integrated in the floorboard, thus leaving more room for occupants in the cabin.
We can expect Maruti Suzuki to price-tag the model competitively as it will aim to disrupt the Indian passenger vehicle EV landscape which is currently dominated by Tata Motors. The OEM has taken its due time to enter the electrification phase and with a competitive pricing, it will aim to establish itself in the growing segment.
