Denver Nuggets veteran point guard Reggie Jackson put the moves on LA Lakers superstar forward LeBron James during the first half of Tuesday’s regular-season opener.

Early in the second quarter, Jackson caught the ball in the corner and pump-faked, but James was unfazed. However, Jackson then did so a second time and sent James flying to the floor.

The veteran PG may have gotten away with a foul. However, no call was made. So, Jackson proceeded to drain a wide-open 3-pointer to put the Nuggets up by 18.

Entering Year 21, LeBron James already has an NBA championship on his mind. During an interview ahead of Tuesday’s matchup against Denver, James spoke about how motivated he is to win his fifth title:

“I just think for one, it’s just my motivation to continue to be as great as I can be and solidify what I want to do in my career and still seeing that Larry O’Brien trophy in my mind on a daily basis.”

James also said that he wants to continue to establish himself as a basketball legend:

“But also wanting to be legendary in this game and let my game speak for itself long after I’ve played.”

The Lakers superstar then touched on the motivation he has been receiving from seeing his teammates just as locked in as him:

“But this team has motivated me as well. Coming to practice every day, seeing the guys go to work every day, challenging each other, trying to get better every day. Implement what we want to do. And so, that’s been motivating as well.”

James is now the oldest player in the league, as he is set to turn 39 in December. However, he has shown no signs of slowing down, as he is coming off a record 19th All-NBA season. Meanwhile, the Lakers are once again positioned to be title contenders after revamping their roster around James and co-star Anthony Davis during the offseason.

So, if everything comes together for LA, James should have a good shot at winning his fifth championship.

Last season, James averaged 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 0.9 steals, 0.6 blocks and 2.2 3-pointers per game on 50.0% shooting over 55 games.
