Jeep Compass sales to get big boost with new 4×2 variant | TOI Auto
The fourth-generation, JL-series Wrangler was originally introduced in India in August 2019 as a CBU (completely built unit). The company started to locally assemble the SUV in 2021 at Jeep’s Ranjangaon, Pune facility and saw a huge price drop owing to lower duties on CKD (completely knocked down). The SUV is offered in five-door guise and gets five colour options.
The SUV gets a single-engine option and is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine which puts out 268hp of power and 400Nm of torque. The engine comes paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The Jeep Wrangler gets the ‘Selec-Trac’ full-time 4WD system, with a 2.72:1 crawl ratio, and heavy-duty suspension in the entry-level Unlimited trim. The Rubicon variant features a full-time 4WD system with a 4:1 crawl ratio, electronically locking front and rear differentials and an electronically operated sway bar.
In terms of features, it gets LED headlamps, LED DRLs, LED fog lamps, semi-digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch screen in between, an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, automatic headlamps and much more. Safety features include front and side airbags, electronic stability control, hill start assist, hill descent control, electronic roll mitigation, TPMS, rear parking sensors and rear camera.
