By the time the San Francisco 49ers were wrapping up their utterly dominant 34-3 win over the Jaguars in Jacksonville, it looked like the game was back in Santa Clara.
Sunday’s shellacking was nothing but pure joy for the thousands of Niners fans who trekked to “America’s Largest City” (by land mass) for the showdown. And for fans of the local team who may have had a few drinks paid for by known Bay Area needler Nick Wright, many of them didn’t even need the fourth quarter to decide they had seen enough for the day and head home.

Of course, it helps that the 49ers fans seemingly outnumbered Jags fans even at kickoff. Both the San Francisco Chronicle and NBC Sports Bay Area reported earlier in the week that Vividseats’ Fan Forecast estimate showed 57% of the crowd would be 49ers fans. (The Chronicle and SFGATE are both owned by Hearst but operate separate newsrooms.)

Still, the sheer volume of 49ers fans, combined with the lack of Jaguar fans left at the end of the game, had to make this feel like an East Coast home for the red and gold.
