Dubai-based Front Row grabs MENA rights for Miyazaki’s ‘The Boy And The Heron’｜Arab News Japan

Dubai-based Front Row Entertainment acquired rights for the Japan’s Hayao Miyazaki’s ‘The Boy And The Heron’ in the Middle East and North Africa region.

The company will release the Studio Ghibli title in theaters in the region on Dec. 14. The movie rights were acquired right after the feature’s international premiere at the Toronto Film Festival this month.

Goodfellas, Studio Ghibli’s sales agents, brokered the deal.

Front Row Entertainment has rolled out several Japanese films and TV series in the MENA region, including Dragonball and One Piece: Red.

The upcoming release of ‘The Boy and The Heron’ will also mark the first time a Miyazaki film will be released in Saudi Arabia.

The Boy and The Heron was initially released in Japan in July, where it has grossed up to ¥7.9 billion yen (about $53 million.)
