“I am so grateful for every moment I had with you Matty and I miss you every day,” she wrote alongside a clip from the hit NBC comedy that ran for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004.

“When you work with someone as closely as I did with Matthew, there are thousands of moments I wish I could share,” she added. “For now here’s one of my favourites.”

In the clip, Ross (David Schwimmer) runs into the room to share his excitement over getting married. “I’m getting married, today!” Ross exclaims as Perry’s Chandler says, “Yeah, you are.” After Ross leaves, his sister Monica (Cox) pops out from under the sheets and asks, “You think he knew I was here?” which had the studio audience erupting in cheers.

“To give a little backstory, Chandler and Monica were supposed to have a one night fling in London. But because of the audience’s reaction, it became the beginning of their love story,” Cox wrote. “In this scene, before we started rolling, he whispered a funny line for me to say. He often did things like that. He was funny and he was kind.”

Monica and Chandler eventually got together for good on the sitcom and were married in a 2001 episode. In the series finale, which aired in May 2004, the couple adopted a twin boy and girl.

Like the rest of the cast, Cox was repeatedly asked over the years if they would ever consider doing a sequel series, but she said, “I just don’t see it happening.”

“People ask us all the time, ‘Will we ever do a remake?’ That was a story about these group of people that are friends in their 30s who are finding themselves. I don’t know if there’s a way to redo it,” Cox told PEOPLE in 2019.

Cox’s tribute follows co-star Matt LeBlanc’s own Instagram post on Tuesday, in which he called working with Perry “among the favourite times of my life.”

“It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye,” LeBlanc wrote. “It was an honour to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never. Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love.”

Perry was found dead in the hot tub of his Los Angeles-area home on Oct. 28. He was 54.

Cox and LeBlanc’s personal tributes come after the rest of the Friends cast – including Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston and Schwimmer – released a joint statement in which they said they were “utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew.”

“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just castmates. We are a family. There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss,” the Friends cast’s joint statement read. “In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”
