Holmes is a former AFLW player and recently appeared on Seven’s SAS Australia.
Brooksby was on AFL lists at West Coast, Gold Coast and Hawthorn before his 15-game career came to a close at the end of 2020.
Holmes said she wanted to get married in the Northern Territory because it was “a massive part” of her journey and the place meant a lot to her and Brooksby.
Prior to the big day Holmes had revealed that her sister’s kids had grown up in East Arnhem land and she predicted she would be “a blubbering mess” when the moment of truth of arrived.
Holmes said: “So many of our guests haven’t been to that part of the world so it’s pretty special to be able to get back there and share with them why we love it so much.”
Channel 7 AFL callers Luke Hodge and Brian Taylor were among the 100-strong guest list, as was Collingwood premiership hero Mason Cox.
“We’ve actually pulled it together quite quickly after we had our engagement party on December 30 last year with no plans of when we were getting married,” Holmes said.
“It was only a week or so after that we kind of looked at each other and said if we don’t plan something it’ll never happen.
“If it was up to Keegan and I it would never have got done. We would have been screwed without (our wedding planner).”
In his Instagram story, Brooksby called it the “best day of my life”.
While Holmes said it was a “dream” and she couldn’t wait to “share more”.
AFL great Joel Selwood and his wife, Brit, were just some of the high-profile people to comment.
“Beautiful guys,” Joel wrote and Brit said: “Absolutely incredible ❤️❤️ congratulations.”
Supercars host and another former SAS Australia contestant, Riana Crehan, said: “Absolutely stunning.”
And that sentiment was shared by former Australian Olympic swimmer Steph Rice.
Rice – who was also in SAS Australia in the recent series with Holmes – wrote: “Soo so happy for you both … the start of another amazing journey together … sending you both love and beautiful blessings. Xx.”
And civil celebrant Kate Haley said: “Congratulations to you both! Such an incredible celebration! LOVE LOVE LOVE xxx so lucky to have shared in your special day with you both 🤍🤍🤍.”
The happy couple are reportedly heading on their honeymoon in December.
