The M 1000 R is the first BMW naked bike to cross the 200 hp mark and it gets the same engine as the M 1000 RR. It’s powered by a 999 cc, in-line 4-cylinder water-cooled engine which puts out 212hp at 14,500 rpm and 113 Nm of peak torque. BMW claims the bike can sprint from 0-100 kph in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 280 kph.
The bike gets riding modes such as – Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race and Race Pro modes. It also gets the latest generation of Dynamix traction control, wheelie function with a 6-axis sensor box, ABS, ABS pro, launch control and pit lane limiter.
In terms of features, the bike gets a 6.5-inch TFT instrument cluster, OBD interface for M GPS data logger, M GPS lap trigger, lightweight M battery, rear USB charging socket, LED lights, adaptive turning lights, cruise control and heated grips. The M Competition package additionly gets M carbon wheels, M rider footrest system, M carbon parts such as rear wheel cover and chain guard, front wheel cover, tank covers, air box cover with tapes, wind deflector, sprocket cover and fully adjustable foot rear system. The bike will be available in non-metallic light white and black storm metallic.
