Japanese fashion brand BAPE joined forces with Bandai Namco’s most nostalgic toy, the Tamagotchi.
BAPE designed a retro-inspired capsule of co-branded products that combine gaming and streetwear, to give customers a blast from the past.
The collaboration includes digital mobile games and apparel, including hoodies and t-shirts.
The Tamagotchis are available in three colors; green, blue and pink. The toys are designed similarly to the 1996’s first generation Tamagotchi, featuring “Mamecchi” and “Oyajicchi” icons.
The mobile game also features BAPE’s inspiration by using its signature camouflage pattern along the custom shell and LCD screen.
Each Tamagotchi comes equipped with a neck strap and retails for ¥6,600 yen.
BAPE has also curated hoodies and t-shirts that incorporate both BAPE and Tamagotchi’s typography and logos.
The BAPE x Tamagotchi release went live on Oct. 14 at authorized BAPE retail stores and online. The capsule went live on Bandai’s website on Oct. 15.
