Bengaluru-based EV maker Ather Energy has announced its business plans, as per which it will venture into the international market by exporting its flagship model, the Ather 450X, to Nepal. This move marks Ather’s first foray into global markets, with the company having partnered with Nepal-based Vaidya Energy. The company said that it will set up its first Experience Centre in Kathmandu in November this year.
As part of this collaboration, Vaidya Energy will manage the sales and service of Ather products in Nepal, while also establishing Ather Grids, fast-charging stations, to alleviate range anxiety among users.

While the company has not revealed the prices for the 450X model for the Nepal market, we anticipate that the electric scooter will cost somewhere around the Rs 4 lakh-mark, ex-showroom, going by the price difference between the same two-wheeler models sold in both the countries.
The 450X electric scooter is now available with two battery options – 2.9 kWh and 3.7 kWh. The 450X boasts of features such as park assist, auto hold, fall safe, a 7-inch TFT touchscreen cluster with Google Maps integration. Further, the company claims a range of up to 146 km on a single charge while the top speed of this EV is governed at 90 kmph.
Ravneet Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather, said “We have had incredible in-bound demand from multiple markets, and Nepal is the first step in our journey of going international. In line with our ecosystem approach of market creation, we will also roll out our public fast charging infrastructure, which has proven to be a huge differentiator for us in India.”
