Bing Chat is now Copilot
Microsoft announced that Bing Chat and Bing Chat Enterpriseare becoming Copilot. This is to streamline the experience across all its Copilot products – from Microsoft 365 suite to Windows 11 Copilot.
Microsoft says that with the change, those who sign up via Microsoft Entra ID will be able to get access to all Copilot services. Microsoft Entra ID is a cloud-based identity and access management solution that provides authorisation to various Microsoft services such as Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, and Microsoft Azure.
“Over time, our vision is to expand Copilot to any Entra ID user at no additional cost—so wherever and whenever an employee signs into Copilot with their work account they will get commercial data protection,” the company said.
The ‘new’ Copilot will become generally available on December 1. Microsoft said that since the launch of Bing Chat, there have been more than 1 billion prompts and queries. Copilot is based on the latest OpenAI models, including GPT-4 and DALL-E 3, offering text and image generation capabilities.

Apart from renaming the Bing Chat to Copilot, Microsoft is also making it available on more platforms. Those interested will be able to use Copilot with https://copilot.microsoft.com on their preferred browsers. Furthermore, Bing.com will continue to be available for users who want a combined search and chat experience.
Copilot will work on Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Safari and will soon be available on mobile. The move will ensure Microsoft to better compete with ChatGPT, which can be accessed from any web browser.
