Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the Arabic television channel Spacetoon have collaborated to launch a streaming section on Spacetoon Go titled ‘Japan Anime Street’ to provide anime shows in Arabic.
Established in 1958, JETRO is a government-related organization that aims to promote mutual trade between Japan and other countries.
Spacetoon is considered one of the largest and most successful kids channels in the Middle East region. Established in 2000, the channel specializes in animation and has introduced many viewers to anime through dubbing it in modern standard Arabic.
JETRO and Spacetoon’s ‘Japan Anime Street’ will stream exclusive anime dubbed in Arabic and will be available as part of Spacetoon’s online streaming platform Spacetoon Go.
“We aim to create an exceptional streaming section that caters specifically to Arabic anime fans. ‘Japan Anime Street’ will serve as a gateway to a world of captivating Japanese stories and unforgettable characters, all conveniently accessible in Arabic,” said Kamel Weiss, General Manager at Spacetoon Go, regarding the collaboration.
“Our collaboration with Spacetoon marks a fantastic development towards enhancing the Japanese anime experience in the Middle East region,” said Nobuyuki Nakajima, Managing Director of JETRO Dubai and MENA.
“The exclusive streaming section, ‘Japan Anime Street’ on Spacetoon Go, aims to create a unique space for Arabic anime enthusiasts in the region. This platform will undoubtedly offer a diverse and enjoyable experience, offering Japanese anime in the native language of Arabic viewers,” he added.
