The video showed a Maruti Suzuki Swift fully covered with red stickers/vinyls, tinted black windows, aftermarket modifications and no registration plate parked in the middle of the busy road facing the opposite direction.Then, the driver of the vehicle starts driving it in reverse gear, as a Mahindra Thar and a Hyundai i2o, which also appear to be part of the ‘convoy’, follow the modified Swift.
Additionally, loud songs were reportedly playing in the background, accompanied by hooting and cheering. An FIR was registered by Gurugram Police under relevant IPC sections. It was revealed that the accused performed these dangerous stunts to go viral on social media platforms. “After interrogating the accused, we learned that they wanted to gain fame through an Instagram reel, for which they planned to execute car stunts on a busy road at 9:00 PM on Tuesday,” said ACP Kapil Ahlawat.
A similar incident took place earlier this year when a YouTuber tried to recreate a scene from Shahid Kapoor-starrer Farzi by throwing currency notes on the road from the boot of a moving car.
