SSC CGL Tier I Result 2023: The candidates who appeared in the Combined Graduate Level Examination, SSC CGL 2023 are demanding the Commission to reconsider the Tier I results. The aspirants are alleging the Commission of dropping the number of candidates advancing to the next level of the examination, despite the increased number of vacancies this year.
The Staff Selection Commission conducted the CGL Tier-I exam from July 14 to 27, 2023 at various centres across India. The result for the same was declared on September 20. A total of 81,752 candidates have been selected for the Tier-II examination which is scheduled to take place on October 25, 26, and 27, 2023.
SSC CGL aspirants took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their disappointment over the CGL Tier-I result. Candidates are claiming that this year, the number of applicants qualified for the Mains (Tier II) examination is much less than the previous year’s examination.

Sharing the stats of the SSC CGL Tier-I results of the last couple of years, an X user writes, “Staff Selection Commission should have been consistent with the number of candidates selected. Many candidates are brilliant they just didn’t think that the cut-off for a stage, qualifying in nature, would spike up like this.”

“Candidates qualifying in tier 1 must not be random multiple depending on the mood of SSC, it must be fixed and 8.5 times is too low, in fact lowest in SSC exams till date, please understand the plight of students,” writes another user on X.
